It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Scott Ginther, who died peacefully at home on July 21, 2025, at the age of 61, after facing ALS with extraordinary courage and grace.
Scott was born on January 17, 1964, in Regina, Saskatchewan, to parents Elmer and Marlene Ginther. In 1966, the family moved to Elfros, where they spent seven years before settling in Hanley in 1973.
Scott built a life grounded in dedication and loyalty. He worked at Graham Construction for 25 years before continuing his career with Nuna, and finally Fort McKay. Known for his selflessness and dependability, Scott earned deep respect from both field and office colleagues alike.
In September 1988, Scott married Debra (Brumwell) in Saskatoon, SK. Together they shared 37 years of marriage and raised three children, building a life rich in love, laughter, and unwavering commitment.
Scott found joy in the simple pleasures of life — preparing incredible meals that brought family together, riding his motorcycle on open roads, and especially traveling to Maui, Hawaii, where many of his most cherished memories were made. He will be remembered for his grounded wisdom, his dry wit and ability to find humor in any situation, and his soft heart for animals.
Scott was predeceased by his father Elmer, mother Marlene, her later-in-life partner Chuck Williams, brothers Kim and Danny, sisters Penny and Shelly, and his close cousin and friend James.
He is survived by his wife Debra, daughter Mackenzie, sons James and Nikolaus, his sister Raelene, and a wide circle of extended family and dear friends whose lives were made better by knowing him.
Our family would like to thank the MAiD team for their compassion and care. Scott made the decision to access MAiD in accordance to his values and wishes as he faced ALS. His choice brought him peace - and for that, we are profoundly thankful.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 31st at 2:00 p.m. at Knox United Church. All who knew and loved Scott are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Scott’s memory may be made to the ALS Society of Saskatchewan at https://alssask.ca/en/donate, in honor of his strength and the cause that now holds deep meaning for those he leaves behind.
