Scott Donald Rowat

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Scott Donald Rowat of Saskatoon, 58 years of age, on June 21, 2026. Scott is survived by his wife, Terri Anne Rowat (nee Fitzsimmons), and his two daughters, Emily Dawn Rowat and Katelyn Elizabeth Rowat.

Scott was born on March 6, 1968 in North Battleford to Donald Glen Rowat and Faye Marlene Rowat. His youth was spent in Rockhaven, Saskatchewan where he attended Cut Knife High School, graduating with high honours and was selected valedictorian by his classmates.

Scott met Terri in 1993. They married in 1995. Together, Scott and Terri built a loving and beautiful family, with their two daughters, Emily and Katelyn, and later their French bulldog, "Mac". Mac would grow to become Scott's best friend, enjoying many naps in the sunshine in the front window of the family home.

Scott's first job was with the Cut Knife and District Seed Cleaning Plant. He went on to work nearly 25 years with Flexicoil / CNH as a Team Lead in the assembly of agricultural equipment. Thereafter, Scott was employed as Foreman for Northland Logistics. Scott retired in 2018.

Scott enjoyed all types of sports - hockey, broomball, softball, football, and riding his motorbike at the family farm. He was a lover of all of genres of movies but favoured action movies the most. He liked being outdoors whether it be camping, fishing, or barbequing on the back deck. Scott's love of sports also spilled over into being a fan of certain sports teams. The Boston Bruins lost a lifetime dedicated fan on June 21, 2026. Additionally, like most home-grown Saskatchewanians, Scott was a diehard Riders fan. He almost never missed donning Rider gear on game days. After the passing of Scott's father in 2004, Scott enjoyed helping his mother in Rockhaven, whether it be cutting the grass, tidying up the yard, or "macgyvering" items that needed repair. Scott was a bit of a pyromaniac. He loved himself a huge bonfire and would build one whether there was a base or not.

Scott was wise in an old-school way. He gave excellent advice to his children, and to all his nieces and nephews. Often, he could be heard saying "You see, here's what you do...". Scott enjoyed interacting with people. He was an avid BS'er, a lover of great stories, and of dirty jokes. If he approached you with a mischievous grin, it was almost always followed by a story, a joke, or two or ten. For the most part, before his illness, Scott could be counted on in nearly any circumstance to lend a helping hand. He went about daily life calmly and thoughtfully, approaching problems with a cool head.

There is no easy way to say this. Scott's diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 2015 turned his life upside down. The resulting physical effects led to his early retirement. Thereafter, gradually and cruelly, little by little, MS stripped away most of the things he enjoyed in life, along with his ability to fully participate in life's small joys. Scott's world narrowed in all ways. This narrowing, and the resulting isolation, took a significant toll on Scott.

Despite the disease and its physical effects, Scott always did his best to travel to see his mother, attend important family functions, and to be there for his family when he could, in ways that he could be. Terri, Emily and Katelyn will remember Scott for the husband he was, and the Dad he enjoyed being, even when Scott was struggling with nearly all aspects of each day.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Terri, his two daughters, Emily and Katelyn, his brother, Rob (Christine), their children Megan, James (Tanaya), Bradley (Jessica), as well as numerous nephews to whom Scott was a most excellent uncle (Michael, Tadhg, Conall, Lane).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Faye.

Scott lived, and loved, a simple life. In accordance with Scott's wishes, and the wishes of his family, no funeral will be held. No public services are presently planned. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations in Scott's name to MS support and services in Saskatchewan, Click Here to Donate, or we would love to have your support at the September MS Bike Ride in Waskesiu - watch for "Team Scott Rowat".

Rest in peace, Scott. We love you.

Arrangements entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home, 306-244-5577.
