Sharon Anne Yaroshko who passed away February 8, 2026 was born December 22, 1953 at Biggar Sask. She was raised in a farm family and left home after grade 12. She explored multiple areas of training and employment including retail sales, dental assistant, special care aid and quilting instructor. She had been retired for several years at the time of her death.
As with so many of us, life presented many difficulties and seemingly insurmountable problems and had provided minimal answers until Sharron became associated with the "Friends of Bill W" around 1992. The ongoing interaction allowed Sharron's life to become much more enjoyable and peaceful.
Although she was reluctant to acknowledge it, Sharron was very gifted artistically and in her capacity to relate to other people.
She was very active in the early years of the local quilting guild, organizing teaching sessions, regular meetings, road trips and weekend workshops, especially at Bruno, which many quilters can likely recall.
Her artistic ability was also manifested in the design of her front and backyard, and construction of a cabin at Candle Lake and her own quilts.
Her capacity and caring with respect to others came clear through multiple mentorship and sponsorship of girls and young women having hard times.
A consistent aspect of Sharron's life was the presence of cats, from Miss Sugar Plum, through Susie and Bud, with Maggie and Abbie currently in residence but somewhat sad.
Sharron and Ron Kozakavich were married in July, 1998. They particularly enjoyed Canadian travel, with multiple trips to Vancouver Island and the Maritimes, seeing whales on both coastlines.
Both summer and winter trips to the cabin at Minowukaw were very precious.
Sharron had remained close to two family members, Alice and especially cousin Bonnie Lou. She also treasured her friendship with Pat.
Unfortunately, auto immune disorders became progressively more limiting as the millenium progressed, and for the last several years, Sharron's life became severely restricted. Her last illness came at a time when she had been very discouraged by her illnesses and with this and recent immunosuppression therapy, she was unable to resist the massive infection.
At Sharron's request there will be no funeral or memorial services.
For all her friends, know that Sharron had reached the decision to let go, and was able to do so very peacefully, with the belief of better to come.
