The family of Sheila Winifred Osborn (nee Pratt) sadly announce her passing on May 5, 2025 at The Hospice at Glengarda.
Sheila was born in North Battleford on October 12, 1932 to Walter and Winifred Pratt. She married Henry Albert Osborn on December 23, 1953. Sheila is survived by her sons, Bill (Marilyn) and Douglas (Irene); granddaughters, Rachel Delaire, Carolyn (Jesse) Aumiller and Bailey Osborn; great grandchildren, Christian, Kirsten, Kyrin, Curtis, Rhiana, Isaiah, Creeonna, Leland, Mackenzie and Holden. She is also survived by her brother, Doug; and many nieces and nephews.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband; her parents; her sister, Marjorie; and her granddaughter, Virginia.
Sheila and Al met at the Battleford court house where she was a secretary and Al was a dashing young lawyer. They spent many years in North Battleford where Sheila was often found at the Third Avenue United Church conducting various choirs. In 1984, Al was appointed a Federal Judge which took them to Yorkton. Sheila soon became involved in the choirs at St. Andrews United Church. Al retired in 1995 and they moved to Saskatoon to be closer to family. Again, Sheila found herself involved with the choirs at St. Martin's United Church. She also took time to direct numerous handbell choirs.
Sheila loved to play bridge and belonged to many bridge groups. She also loved to golf and travel. Sheila was known for her welcoming home and hosted many dinner parties for family and friends.
Sheila and Al spent many enjoyable summers at the cottage at Metinota on Jackfish Lake.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Knox United Church (838 Spadina Cres. East). A private family interment will be held in Meota at a later date.
