Shirley Baird passed peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK

Shirley, educated as a teacher-librarian, filled the stereotype as she preferred the solitude of her own home.  She enjoyed her books, in particular a Canadian classic, Anne of Green Gables.  One of her preferred restaurants was adjacent to a bookstore.

While visiting with family, a stop included the iconic jewelry store, Birks, in downtown Saskatoon.  Admiring all the diamonds and in a fun mood, Shirley chose the one she would prefer.  Exhibiting excellent taste, she had chosen one of the most expensive diamond rings in the store! It was a giggle for all of us.

Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Lillian Baird, and by her sister, Patricia Berg and brother-in-law, Harold Berg.  She leaves her brother, Bob Baird and sister-in-law, Marnie and numerous nephews and their wives and children.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Linda and Audrey for their many years of care and support for Shirley.

A lifelong resident of Saskatoon, Shirley will be interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon.
