Stanley (Stan) Mensinger, age 64, passed away December 1st, 2025 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon surrounded by loved ones after suffering a sudden stroke.
Born to Melvin and Colette Mensinger in Picture Butte, AB alongside his twin brother Wesley. Stan's early life in Alberta was nothing short of eventful. With two older sisters, Wanda and Elaine, and younger Anita, he always had stories of the trouble he'd get into and the times they shared together. His parents and Anita moved to Creston, BC, where Stan's mother was tragically killed in a hit and run accident in 1980, he was only 18 at the time.
In his early twenties he moved to Saskatchewan and there he met and fell in love with Shannon Lutkin, leading them to marry in 1985. Soon after in 1987 they would welcome their first child Sheena into the world, followed by Simon in 1990. A creative and kind soul, Stan was a great father who always put his children first, even when times were difficult, they always felt loved and supported. He had a talent for cooking and worked many long shifts at the Granada House in Saskatoon, developing a reputation for his dedication to the quality of his food.
Following the separation from his wife, Stan would eventually return to Red Deer, Alberta to live with his brother Wes for some time until he was called back to Saskatoon by his desire to be closer to his children and his good friend Alex, who wanted him back at the Granada House - a place he could never quite bring himself to leave - with a staff and friend circle who became like a second family to him.
Stan was a man known for his strong, kind heart and ability to befriend all sorts of people. He was not a judgmental man and always embraced people for who they were, even if society had not yet come that far. He was a treasured brother, father, uncle and friend who left everyone feeling fortunate for having known him.
He is predeceased by his parents Melvin and Colette Mensinger, and sister Anita. Survived by his children Sheena and Simon Mensinger, twin brother Wesley, sister Wanda and brother-in-law Darcy, sister and brother-in-law David and Elaine Agema, as well as his nephews Anthony Mensinger, Chris Mensinger, Trevor Mensinger and nieces Candice Mensinger and Jessica Mensinger, and extended family; nephews Jaryn Lutkin, Devin Adair and niece Sarri Lutkin.
