Sue Wallace

d. August 20, 2017

Susan Ann Wallace November 22, 1950 – August 20, 2017 Sue was born to Gordon and Daisy White, and raised in Burk’s Falls, Ontario. She was the very little sister to her brother Ken and sister Betty. Sue had friendships in public and high school that she maintained throughout life. She took nurses training at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and cared for many seriously ill children. In 1974 she married Rob Wallace and joined his family, parents Bob and Olive, and sister Lori (Murray) Goulah. Sue then had her own three children John (Jennifer) in Toronto, James (Susan) in La Ronge and Jessica in Indian Head. Eventually she welcomed seven grandchildren, Gordon in heaven, Imogen, Addyson, Jack, Isaac, Robbie, and Catherine. In both career and home life, she loved caring for others and doing all she could for them. After her work at Sick Kids, she was in La Ronge, Meadow Lake, and Saskatoon City hospitals, and then her own home daycare. Her love for her family was evident in all she did. She loved knitting for her children, grandchildren, and the babies of the church and friends. She followed her mother’s love of baking for holidays, family dinners, and potlucks. Sue always found time for visiting, care-giving, and laughing with family and friends. She enjoyed playing guitar and music since youth, and reading, scrapbooking and crosswords in later life. Her faith sustained her throughout life, and as she lived with cancer in her last few months. Sue passed quietly and peacefully, surrounded by family on a bright and clear Sunday afternoon. Sue always had big brown eyes and a ready smile for everyone, even strangers. She will be remembered lovingly by friends and family, including many cousins, nieces and nephews.
