Sylvia Lesser

Sylvia Lesser (nee Karch) passed peacefully away on August 2, 2019 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon.  She was 87 years old.

Mom was born Nov 26, 1931 in Lodz, Poland to Emil and Martha Karch.  She lived in Lodz for 13 years then spent 3 years in Berlin, Germany.  On October 31, 1948 she emigrated to Rosthern, SK with her parents and sister Erika.  Here she met Benjamin Lesser and on Nov 10, 1951 they married and moved to Saskatoon.  They raised four children until his passing in August 1989.  Mom enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting and was active at Faith Lutheran Church.

Mom was predeceased by her parents Emil and Martha, her sister Erika Rudolph and husband Benjamin.  She will be remembered by her children Ilona Herbers – Tara (Tyler Klassen) and Noah; Kristina (John Gunningham) Sawyer, Eliah; Jennifer. Karen Mapes – Christopher and Kingston, Cindel; Lisa (Joao Toito)  and Sena, Tiago. Kimberly (Jason) and Oliver, Griffin, Avery. Jonathan. Justin. William (Tracy) – Kristen and Layla-Jazz, Zander. and Harold (Michele) - Saja.
