It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Terry on March 9th, 2026.
Terry was born on April 6th, 1960 into the loving arms of his mother Muriel in Regina, Saskatchewan. Shortly after his birth, they moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan to be closer to family. Terry grew up alongside his cousins, who became more like siblings to him. He cherished the memories of his early days, spending time at Fishing Lake, working on the farm, and the many family Christmas gatherings in Wynyard.
Terry attended Swift Current Comprehensive High School, where he excelled in his studies. Extracurricular activities included badminton, football, and singing in the Meistersingers. It was in high school where he met the love of his life, Yvonne. They were married in 1982 and soon to follow came their three children.
Terry started working for the Department of Highways upon graduation, which would become his lifelong career of 33 years. He treasured the memories, friendships and connections that were made, which he carried forward. Following his retirement, Terry continued to work privately, using the knowledge he had gained throughout his career. Due to health issues in 2025, Terry reluctantly decided to step back and permanently retire.
Terry was a kind, caring and honest man, he always found the good in everyone. He was a loving son, husband, father, papa, uncle and friend. He was a generous and loyal man who valued family and friends above all else. Terry had a way of making everyone feel heard and appreciated. He was proud of his Icelandic heritage and passionate about music, sports, and vehicles.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Yvonne; their three children, Nicole Halldorson, Michael Halldorson, Christine Gall (Jason), as well as his four grandchildren, Leo, Jack, Ava, and Grace, all of whom he cherished dearly.
The Memorial Service for Terrence will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, 2:00 pm at the chapel of Saskatoon Funeral Home. (338 4th Avenue North, Saskatoon)
