“Terry”
August 10, 1951  -  June 26, 2022

On June 26, 2022, the doors of heaven opened and welcomed a great man.

A loving husband, Dad, Papa and friend, Terry touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
Terry was born in Saskatoon, the youngest of 5 boys, to George and Emma Loraas.

Terry was a visionary and could always see opportunity. A hard work ethic was important to Terry. Throughout his life he started several businesses, his pride and joy being Envirotec Services.  While he had many accomplishments, the people he worked with were of the utmost importance to him.  There was nothing that Terry loved more than to share his knowledge. Whether he was operating a grader or standing at the front of the boardroom, it was clear that Terry had a passion for business.

It was Terry’s nature to be humble and kind. His generosity was felt by many and these things were  done with no fanfare. Terry always bet on the underdog. He saw the best in people and was able to empower them to see that within themselves, pushing them to be the best that they could be.

Terry had a high set of standards. He was meticulous and detailed in everything he did. His motto “Neat, Clean, and Correct” will continue to live on through his family, friends and colleagues.

Terry loved to travel. One of his favorite places was Willie Island, where he could light off as many fireworks as he wanted and speed down the river at all hours of the day or night. During the winter months, you could find Terry sitting on a deck enjoying the ocean views of Bucerias. In the past few years, Terry and Michelle’s adventures led them to Europe. Terry was looking forward to a trip back to Belfast  to see his girls.

Terry will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend Michelle; children Drew, Brittany, Colette and Stef (Chad); grandchildren Espen and Stella-Lily; many friends; and countless others whose lives he touched.

Terry’s expansive love for Michelle was obvious to anyone who knew them. They were always best friends first, and husband and wife second. Together they took on the world and spent many hours talking, laughing, and travelling. Terry’s favorite time of the day was in the early morning hours with Michelle, a coffee, and the daily news.

He deeply cherished his eight and would move mountains to ensure they knew “he had their back”.

Terry was so proud to be a Papa. Espen and Stella-Lily held a special place in his life. He was always “First call Pop.” Terry spent countless hours imparting his many wisdoms on his children and grandchildren.

Terry leaves a legacy of kindness, humility, and generosity. Those who were lucky enough to have had their lives touched by Terry will be forever better to have known him.

A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Saskatoon Downtown (405-20th St E) on Tuesday, July 5 at 3:00 PM. The Celebration will be live streamed and can be accessed by the link https://encoreglobal.zoom.us/j/97893077216?pwd=WHhhRVdjZ0drQy9MdmRuSlpVWE1RZz09
