Theresa McGrath

Theresa "Terry" McGrath passed away peacefully on Saturday May 23, 2026, at the Sherbrooke Veteran's Village in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the age of 102.

Terry was born on March 9, 1924 in Wakaw, Saskatchewan, to Anne and Stephen Redl. From an early age, Terry had a head for numbers which led her to a career with the Bank of Montreal before marrying Francis "Frank" E. McGrath in June of 1956. Together they raised four children in their loving home.

Faith and spirituality were the cornerstones of Terry's life. She was a devoted, long-time parishioner of St. Philip Neri Parish and an active member of the Catholic Women's League (CWL).

Terry also had a passion for adventure. She especially cherished her winter stays in Mesa, Arizona. Over her many years of wintering down south, she built many treasured friendships while enjoying golf, bridge, shuffleboard, and lively happy hours. Music brought her immense joy - especially the songs of Elvis Presley - and she always looked forward to dance hall evenings every second Friday night.

Terry was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank, in 1997; her parents, Anne and Stephen Redl; her brother, Phil (Phyllis) Redl; and her sisters, Elizabeth (Frank Bauer, Vince Cooney), Mary (Dick) Tallion, Ann (Ray) Spitzig, and Marg (Howard) Johnson.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four children and six grandchildren: her son Kevin McGrath (Terri) and his daughters Megan and Siobhan, her son Don McGrath (Jacqueline) and his sons Reid and Brett, her daughter Colleen Blanchette (Guy) and her son Dante, and her youngest son Kelly McGrath (Keiko) and his son Coe.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Diane and the staff at the Sherbrooke Community Centre for their compassionate care and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held in August, with details to be announced at a later date.
