Thomas Hartle

Thomas Hartle passed away on August 13, 2024, in Saskatoon, SK after a ten-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Marliss, his children, Danika and Taran, his mom Elizabeth, his brother Kelly and countless other friends and family members. He was predeceased by his father, Ian.

Thomas was 56 years old and lived a successful life as a professional computer nerd (his words) until he was diagnosed with stage four cancer in 2016. After coping with cancer for years, he got involved with TheraPsil with the hopes of a psilocybin treatment to alleviate his end-of-life anxiety. In 2020, he became Canada's first legal psilocybin patient. This treatment transformed his life, and he then made history by paving the way for others to access this life saving treatment. He worked tirelessly to advocate for other cancer patients, sometimes doing interviews or podcasts from his hospital bed. He was so passionate for this cause.

In lieu of flowers, there has been a Go Fund Me set up by TheraPsil for the Thomas Hartle Memorial Fund. Please honour his memory by donating to this worthy cause and allow his advocacy for psilocybin-assisted therapy to continue to those in need.

Thomas's service will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home on September 6 at 2:00 pm. We welcome all willing to pay their respects and help us remember Thomas.
