Todd Edwin Ross

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Todd Edwin Ross, who passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2026, at the age of 60.

Todd was born on February 17, 1966, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to Dean and Lynn Ross. He grew up in Saskatoon, attending Vincent Massey Elementary School and Mount Royal Collegiate. During his school years, Todd enjoyed playing hockey, football, and softball. Like most kids of the era, many days were spent outside from sunup to sundown. He had especially fond memories of time spent at the farm at Spinney Hill, where he made lasting friendships with his many cousins.

Along with sports, Todd developed an early love of music and learned to play guitar from his dad. He honed his skills enough to play in garage bands and spent many enjoyable hours jamming with friends.

After graduating from high school in 1984, Todd began working with Hundseth Power Line Construction (HPL). In 1988, thinking he might want to pursue something different—and perhaps with a little inspiration from the movie Top Gun—Todd enrolled at SAIT, studying Aeronautical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and graduating in 1992.

That same year, home called him back following a health setback. After recovering, Todd returned to HPL and began what would become his lifelong career with the company.

HPL became much more than a workplace to Todd; it became a second family. Among the relationships he treasured was his lifelong friendship with Todd Hundseth, who was like a big brother to him. Throughout his career, Todd was grateful for the mentorship, support, and guidance he received and for the people who continually encouraged him to step outside his comfort zone and grow. Over the years, Todd was proud to contribute to HPL's growth and to be part of the company it became.

One of the most important chapters of Todd’s life began in 1994, when he met Erin McFaull. They married in July 1996 and built a life together that spanned more than 30 years. Their years together brought countless experiences and adventures—trips to Mexico, days spent golfing, attending concerts, hanging with friends and miles traveled together on their Harley-Davidsons. It was a life filled with stories, experiences, and memories that Erin will carry with her forever.

Todd also had the opportunity to travel to Australia and Texas with lifelong friends, creating memories and stories he cherished throughout his life.

When Todd’s health changed, life changed with it, but his illness was only one small chapter in a much larger story. His life was made up of the decades that came before it—the family and friends he loved, the work he took pride in, the places he traveled, the things that made him laugh, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to share his life.

Todd is loving remembered by his wife, Erin; mother, Lynn Ross, siblings Calvin Ross, children Emma and Hanna; Nancy (Brad) Pritchard children Bailey and Ashton; Michelle (Clayton) Lane children Abby and Quin; Sister-in-law Sandra (Pat) Leith, family Ryan (Jessica) children Cadence and Samantha; Rory (Amber) children Conor and Cailyn; Jenna; brother-in-law Kelly (Karen) McFaull family Kendall (Alyssa) children Sara and Mya; Kristina (Regan) children Cohen and Charlie; brother-in-law Wes( Verena) Jamieson family Kelsey (Danny) children Pia and Jye; Joel (Dani) children Sammy and Matty: Spencer (Nicola) children Lucas and Ethan and many extended family.

He was predeceased by his father Dean Ross, father-in-law Field McFaull, mother-in-law Shirley McFaull, sisters-in-law Susan McFaull and Debbie Jamieson, and his brother-in-law Field Jr McFaull.

Todd’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Clint McDonald, Dr. Peter Porostocky, Dr. Gavin Beck, Dr. Dorie-Anna Dueck, Dr. John Shaw, Dr. Karen Mohr, and the palliative care team, especially Amber, for the support, compassion and care they provided Todd throughout his palliative journey. Their kindness will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.

A Celebration of Todd’s Life will be held at the Saskatoon Inn & Conference Centre on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. In keeping with Todd’s personality, the gathering will be an opportunity to share stories, laughter, and memories, and above all, to celebrate a life well lived and a man who will be deeply missed.
