Hnatuk, Valerie
1964 -2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Valerie Marion Hnatuk on Friday February 20, 2026, Val's warmth, dedication to family, and contagious sense of humor will leave a void in the lives of those who knew her.
Val loved to entertain & she delighted in bringing family and friends together for an evening of good food, socializing and games. Ukrainian Christmas was her signature party of the year. Her hospitality, generosity and love always made you feel welcome in her home.
She also had a passion for travel that took her and Jill on many vacations throughout Canada, the US, Europe and many more destinations. She lived a life of adventure and never turned down the opportunity to try something new.
Her caring nature led to a career as a registered nurse where she touched the lives of her patients and their families. Her last few years were spent with the team at Saskatoon Convalescent Home.
Above all else, Val was a proud mother to her daughter Jill. She was devoted to raising Jill to be resilient and independent and provided an example on how to be caring, hardworking & generous. Her unconditional love built them a home filled with laughter and joy.
She leaves behind her loving daughter Jill, her sisters Jeanette (Keith), Linda, Donna and Patricia (Brian) as well as many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She was predeceased by her parents Norman and Amelia, sister Carol, brother Rob and brothers in law Ronn and Mike.
A service to Celebrate Valerie's life will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Saskatoon Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
