Bill was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on October 21, 1936. He was the son of Dr. Clifton Peter Latshaw and Rebecca Kinsley Latshaw, and the brother of Lois Laskowski.
After completing high school, he moved to Columbus, Ohio where he attended the Veterinary College at Ohio State University. After completing a DVM and PhD in Anatomy, he was invited to be a Visiting Professor at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. He was awarded a research grant that extended his stay at WCVM for five more years. During this time, Bill and his wife Jessica agreed to make Saskatoon their permanent home.
During his career at WCVM, Bill served as the Head of the Anatomy Department, received the Outstanding Teacher Award, and became the Associate Dean until he retired.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jessica, two sons, Peter and Francis (Sue Lau), and four granddaughters, Anatha (Steve), Kellin, Georgia, and Gemma.
The family wishes to thank the staff at both SPH Palliative Care Unit and the Glengarda Hospice for their very caring treatment of Bill, his family and friends. May God bless their work always. Amen.
