William James "Jim" Nellis

April 20, 1946 - February 4, 2026

William James Nellis, known to everyone who loved him as Jim, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on February 4, 2026. Born on April 20, 1946, in Kingston, Ontario, Jim spent the majority of his life in Saskatoon and at Candle Lake, Saskatchewan landscapes that mirrored his own quiet strength and love for the outdoors.

Jim was, above all else, a kind man. Though he was a man of few words, he carried himself with a rare integrity and patience. His smile often spoke volumes where words were unnecessary, and his mere presence provided a sense of steadiness and comfort to those around him.

He was deeply committed to his family, and his devotion to his wife, Pat, and his son, Jim, was constant and unwavering. Whether through small daily acts of service or his steadfast support during life's pivotal moments, Jim's love was a quiet force, deeply felt by those closest to him.

The outdoors was Jim's sanctuary. He found his greatest peace in the stillness of an early morning on the water, whether fishing, boating, or snowmobiling across the wide-open spaces of Saskatchewan.

Jim's legacy is defined by his resilience and the lasting mark of his kindness. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by Pat, Jim, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In keeping with Jim's spirit, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, you spend a quiet moment outdoors with those you love, perhaps by the water in his honor.
