It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of "Chuck" Chen Zhuo Ying, 84, of Saskatoon Saskatchewan, on June 26, 2025. Chuck was born in Guangdong China on December 30, 1941.

Chuck was born during a turbulent era in China of the Maoist Movement, enduring significant hardships. Always a family man Chuck left school to tend to his ill mother, learning how to cook and take care of all household responsibilities. While he did go on to further his education, the Cultural Revolution prevented any progress due to the "farmer is farmer" principle.

Chuck married Zhao Jin Pan in 1971. To provide a better opportunity for his young family they began the immigration process to Canada which took eight long years. Through hard work and dedication to his family he was able to purchase a home and help his children complete the advanced education that he was never able to obtain.

He is survived by his wife, Jin Pan, daughter Dianna (Kevin) and son Jake, along with granddaughters Kaila and Lilee. He is also survived by his elder sisters Chen Suexin of New York USA, Chen Suezhen of Saskatoon, and elder brother Chen Wei Ying of China.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Saskatoon Funeral Home 338 4th Ave N, Saskatoon followed by the internment at Woodlawn Cemetery. A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at the Mandarin Restaurant at 4:30 p.m.
